Lines, Angles and blocks o my!

Drawing the furniture pieces out in Auto Cad is time consuming especially if they are even the slightest bit funky. I hope I don't devote too much time to doing these pieces but I think it will pay off in the end to have these drawings. I had planned on having the restuarant and spa in the warehouse area of the existing building and the lobby in the front area. Well now thinking about how I want the front to mimick the big top I think I may move the restuarant to the front with the hanging trapeze sculptures to really give it a circus feel. I just don't know if I can alter that wall seperating the front area from the warehouse, because I need more space for the restuarant.

Rollin'

So I have pretty much completed the first floor layout in the hotel addition. I am having a hard time coming up with names for the restaurant and spa. I want something that goes along with Hôtel de Cirque, but without needing a minor in french to understand, or to go along with the circus like the Bearded Lady and Fire Eaters, but those are too coarse I feel like, to fit with the hotel name. Suggestions anyone? I have posted my first floor layout on blackboard, and hope to have furniture drawings soon.

Acrobats, Juggling Bears, Fire Eaters

Seeing everyone's initial ideas yesterday was fun. Although many people are doing the traditional modern theme but they are all very different in their own right. I am sticking to my circus/bordello theme and everyday I am finding new and better things to go along with my theme. I am still having a hard time finding a cool circular bed and also where to even start on autocad. I have my basic idea for the building but getting them started is what's slipping me up. So I have picked out a good majority of finishes and furniture to compliment the Hotel de Cirque.

where from here?

so now that I have ideas and inspiration where do i even start? the existing? the addition? more finishes? Lighting? It's one big step to reach the easier ones I feel like. Maybe start on raising the ceilings in the existing and go from there.

Glitz and Glam with bold colors

Damask print wall coverings in contrasting colors provide something that will catch your eye. Like the side show acts, eyecatching but not main focus.

The round open fireplace brings to mind the ring of fire animals would jump through at the circus.

Day 1 of one strange trip

with the building being on circus square park I couldn't help but to include a circus inspiration. However instead of red and white stripes and the typical imaging associated with circuses my circus is more inspired by the original ideas of exotic shows from far away places and with a little inspiration from Britney Spears and her video circus helps me give this hotel the polish it needed. Going with an almost burlesque style with lots of crystal, jaquard prints, black laquer, and lights it is reminescent of the early Moulin Rouge in Paris, promising something exotic and exciting for the refined and modern tastes that exist today. Off the wall patterns colors furniture and lighting should give the awe factor as soon as you walk into the lobby. Themed suits and unique style will help set this hotel apart from the day to day hotels you see every trip. I want people to want to stay in it even when they live in bowling green because it is something different and exciting.
